Preliminary task

We wanted our preliminary task to be an action parody because we all decided that we wanted to have a slapstick comedy film because we all had good ideas to put into the film. We wanted to do a film that we thought would be fun to make, we based it on a meeting with two people then a person tries to stop it by killing both of them. We didn't really try to make the viewer feel any emotions for the characters because it was supposed to be funny.

I really liked some of the editing we done such as when the coin was flicked and it cuts to a close up of the coin being flicked which then cuts back to the person catching it, I liked it because we tried to go for a pretty complicating shot seeing as it was our first time making a film. We done some simple but effective slow motion and reversed scenes such as when I have to catch a hat after throwing it we just reversed the same shot so it looks like the hat comes perfectly back to me. We wished we could have added an effect that when one of the characters has headphones on the viewers can hear it then when he takes them off it goes muffled, this would be the perspective of the character.

We used a very wide variety of shots such as over the shoulder, close up and two-shot, this made our film more interesting for the audience because it didn't just use the same shots over and over again, I don't think we needed to add any more different types of shots because we included a wide range even though it was just a 2 minute clip.

We learnt that we need to include shots in a certain order such as establishing shot then long shot and then followed by mid shot. We can now use this in our next film which will come in useful. We now know how to film with a camera properly and to use a tripod effectively.

We managed to do all the filming in about 2 or 3 hours which was good that because it would give a good effect that it is all in the same time period.  We all worked together as a group so that we could get all of the filming done as quick as possible, we did disagree at some things whilst trying to film but then we would all come to an agreement that worked best for us all.
